繼首戰攻下卅五分、五抄截，昨天面對國王，雷納德再次轟下卅分、五抄截、五助攻，帶領球隊一○二比九十四獲勝；開幕兩戰合計六十五分、十抄截，成為NBA自一九七九年起達到這項里程碑的第一人。
雷納德也是前兩戰馬刺單打得分最多，命中率最高的球員，同時發動持球擋拆次數也是全隊第一，昨天第三節球隊落後到八分時，他更在短短四分鐘內演出單節四抄截，助隊逆轉。
一向不輕易稱讚自己球員的教頭波波維奇，罕見地說：「我叫他給我多一點這種表現，管他球在誰手上，把球給我抄過來，我很少看到球員能表現這麼好，但這就是他應該要有的水準。」
本季才加盟馬刺的加索說：「能在攻守兩端都保持這麼高水準的球員並不多，我過去曾和很多頂尖球員打球，但雷納德真的很特別。」
